The Exhibits
American Servicewomen in the Global War on Terror pays tribute to America’s servicewomen serving in Afghanistan and Iraq. It opened Nov. 11, 2005, and will remain on display indefinitely. The exhibit offers a brief glimpse of some of the women who have been a part of America’s response to the September 11, 2001, attacks and the ensuing Global War on Terror.Our Exhibit Archive presents new subjects and materials and focuses on individuals, groups, and events to extend the reach of our programs and projects and to highlight our resources.
Oral Histories
The Foundation's Oral History Collection includes interviews with servicewomen from a variety of services and eras. These are just a few of the women who have shared their stories of military service for America.LT Reyna Hernandez, USCG. A 2003 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, LT Hernandez served as Executive Officer aboard the USCGC Monomoy (WPB 1326) while forward deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from 2005 to 2006.
MGySgt Rosemarie Weber, USMC. An active duty Marine from 1980 to 2006, MGySgt Weber completed many distinguished assignments, including being chosen to serve with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq in 2003.
Col. Lorry Fenner, USAF. Serving from 1979 to 2006, Col. Fenner worked as an Intelligence Officer in the United States and overseas and served as the deputy of the Intelligence Task Force for the 9/11 Commission.
CPT Diane Reba, Army Nurse Corps. Deployed to Vietnam from August 1965 to August 1966, CPT Reba served as an Army Nurse at the 85th Evacuation Hospital, Qui Nhon.
Yeoman 3rd Class Charlotte Winters, USN. The last known surviving World War I woman veteran, Yeoman Winters served as a clerk at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, DC, from March 1918 to March 1920.
