Honorable Discharge Papers for Pregnancy
Virginia Manzi was among the first to join the Women's Army Auxiliary Corps in 1942. When the Women's Army Corps (WAC) was established a year later, she decided to stay and became a pharmacy technician. In Aug. 1945, TSgt Manzi married TSgt Tommy Plummer and two months later, she notified the Army that she was pregnant. Her separation from the WAC followed immediately, and as the text within the red rectangle below states, the reason and authority for her separation derived from Pregnancy Section III Article 615-361 disallowing pregnant women from serving.
