Anyone with information about LTC Susan E Freeman, who was an Army nurse aboard the USS James E Parker during WWII. Marsha Straatsma and Jean (Imhof) Wislowsky, LPNs who enlisted into the Women’s Army Corps in Apr 1966, under a new guaranteed 91C20 program. Marsha's permanent duty station was Letterman General Hospital, San Francisco. Jean went to Valley Forge Army Hospital, PA. Marsha was originally from MI and Jean from Lebanon, PA. Carol (Zachary) Zelinsky, of Islip, NY, who went to the hospital at Ft Dix, NJ; and LT, the African American gal who was promised by her recruiter to become an Electrical Engineer and a 1st LT, hence the name LT. Also, anyone with information about MAJ Francis Stoops, TB Control Nurse at Fitzsimmons Army Hospital in 1966-67. She was from WI and had a red Mustang. Anyone with information about members of the 802nd Air Evacuation Squadron who served in North Africa and Italy in 1942. My mother, Lt Sylvia Eileen Van Antwerp O’Connor served in that unit. She and others trained at Bowman Field and in FL prior to their mission. I believe that they were the first unit of flight nurses for the United States. Anyone with information on the military service record of Belle (Leeds) Stewart, who enlisted in the USA Nurse Corps in WWI and served at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC, during the flu epidemic. She was later transferred to Camp Humphrie, VA, where she served until the close of the war. Belle was born in 1877 and died in 1926. Near the end of her life she married Grover Stewart. Mary Nell Walker, whose married name may also be Rose or Wynn, who entered the Air Force or Army sometime between 1973-75 and went to San Antonio, TX, for military training. Virginia Vaughn or Vaughan. Her unit and specific time served are unknown, possibly WWII. A 1943 or 46 Army Officer's Guide with her name written in pencil on the inside front cover was given to me as a gift upon my commission. It was purchased at a garage sale in the Rochester, NY, area.
