WWII soldier Franklin John Cookingham is seeking information about an Army nurse who cared for him at the general hospital in Viller, France, in Nov 1944. Enroute to the US, Frank was sent by hospital train to Marsielles, France, and this nurse accompanied him. A native of Newburgh, NY, she and Frank, who was from Amenia, NY, spent a lot of time talking about home. Anyone who knew my mother, Eva Frances (West) Parks, who was a corpsman in 1943. She was stationed in NYC and was one of the first women from Lincoln, NE, to enlist. In Lincoln, she was a toll operator and had worked for a photographer tinting sepia tone pictures. She later married Gordon Thomas Parks who was in the Army Air Corps and who retired from the USAF as a Col in 1965.
