Although the Uncover “Her”story interactive map usually features the story of one servicewoman each month, a pair of sisters from rural Kentucky who joined the WAC in the 1950s reminds us of the many reasons women have joined the US Armed Forces through the years — patriotism, travel, job opportunity or family tradition.
