The Women’s Memorial 2013 Calendar, the 20th in our special edition series of calendars, is a tribute to the time-honored military courtesy familiar to all military members—the hand salute. Featuring extraordinary archival and contemporary photos, it’s pages will highlight significant aspects of rendering honors, from saluting senior personnel or the American flag to rendering a hand salute during the playing of “Taps” or the “National Anthem”. Exploring the long history and rich military traditions of rendering honors, the calendar will include quotes by military women that capture the feelings of pride and patriotism shared by every uniformed member who has the privilege of executing a sharp hand salute.
Many of the amazing photos contributed to the archive by so many of you illustrate each of the calendar’s 13 pages. Filled with extraordinary images, special tributes and servicewomen’s quotations, We believe this calendar will make you feel proud of women’s service. We hope you’ll decide you want a copy even if you don’t normally ask for one.
