The Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation is proud to host two presentations of Shirley Lauro's powerful theater production "A Piece of My Heart," the compelling story of six women who served in the Vietnam War. Presentations are scheduled for 7 p.m., Saturday, May 24 and 1:30 p.m., Sunday, May 25, at the Women's Memorial, the gateway to Arlington National Cemetery. The play, which premiered with much acclaim in New York City in 1991 and has been widely produced since, is based on the book by Keith Walker. The production company, an accomplished amateur theater group from Butler, Pennsylvania, is sponsored by the Butler VA Medical Center. The Women’s Memorial is readily accessible via Metro (Blue Line) and paid parking is available. Featuring an exhibit gallery, theater and Register of women who have served, the Memorial is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily. The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is the nation’s only major memorial honoring all servicewomen, past, present and future.
