The Women In Military Service For America Memorial Foundation is proud to host Shirley Lauro’s powerful theater production "A Piece of My Heart," the compelling story of six women who served in the Vietnam War. Performances are set for Saturday, November 8 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, November 9 at 2 and 7 p.m. A fourth performance is tentatively planned for Monday, November 10 at 2 p.m., depending upon demand. The play is part of the many Vietnam Women’s Memorial 10th Anniversary activities scheduled for the Veterans Day weekend. "A Piece of My Heart," which premiered with much acclaim in New York City in 1991 and has been widely produced since, is based on the book by Keith Walker, will be performed by the Blue Barn Theatre company from Omaha, Nebraska. The Women’s Memorial is readily accessible by Metro (Blue Line) and paid parking is available.
