Faces of the Fallen Art Exhibit Extended

The Women’s Memorial Foundation is pleased to announce that Faces of the Fallen: America’s Artists Honor America’s Heroes has been extended through Memorial Day, May 30, 2006. The exhibit, which pays tribute to America’s service members killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, opened at the Memorial in March 2005. Named one of the top five gallery exhibitions for 2005 by The Washington Post, this extraordinary exhibit includes over 1,300 portraits by 200 artists from across the country. The exhibit, which is free and open to the public, includes portraits of service members killed from Oct. 10, 2001 through Nov. 11, 2004, and has been seen by over 230,000 Memorial visitors.

The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is the nation’s only major memorial honoring all servicewomen, past, present and future. Featuring an exhibit gallery, theater and Register of women who have served, the Memorial is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily. Memorial information can be found at www.womensmemorial.org.
