The Pentagon Quilts: An Exhibition of Tribute and Remembrance returns
to the Women's Memorial, the gateway to Arlington National Cemetery,
on September 10. Assembled to mark the second anniversary of the September
11 terrorist attack on the Pentagon, the exhibit includes some 100 of
the quilts sent to the Pentagon from around the world in response to
the attacks. The exhibit will remain through the end of the year.
The Pentagon Quilts is a poignant tribute to the victims and an amazing,
universal expression of hope and caring by the quilts' creators -- men,
women and children of all ages, professions and walks of life. While
on display individually and in small groups at various locations across
the country, the Memorial is the only place all of the quilts have been
displayed together. The exhibit is sponsored by Concurrent Technologies
Corporation and CTC Foundation and is free and open to the public.
The Women's Memorial, on the Blue Line Arlington Cemetery Stop, is open
daily, 8 AM to 7 PM, and beginning October 1 from 8 AM to 5 PM. Call
703-533-1155 or 800-222-2294 for more information about the exhibit.
Narrated tours can be arranged by calling 703-892-2606. Paid parking
is available.
