Women's Memorial Observes Veterans Day

The annual Women’s Memorial Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 3:30 p.m., Nov. 11.  The ceremony, one of three major observances in the nation’s capital, is free and open to the public and will include formal military honors, a keynote address, veterans’ remarks, the Army’s Freedom Team Salute presentation and a wreath laying.

The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is the nation’s only major memorial honoring all servicewomen, past, present and future.  Featuring an exhibit gallery, theatre, Register of women who have served and a gift shop, the Memorial is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
