Just 4 Kids
Join us for an exciting series of Just 4 Kids educational programs hosted by the Women’s Memorial and designed to familiarize students, ages 9 and above, with the responsibilities of citizenship, American history, patriotism and, of course, women’s rich heritage of service. All events are open to the public and run from 2-4 pm at the Women’s Memorial. The cost is $2 per student per program, payable in advance, and children must be accompanied by an adult (adult companions are free). What do stop signs, the Statue of Liberty and the American flag have in common? Find out at the Women’s Memorial in October. Learn about our use of symbols in everyday life and in the military. Experience a new side of patriotism as we examine the creation and changes in the American flag and how these changes reflect our nation and its growth. Discuss other national symbols of patriotism, including our five military service flags, and the feelings they evoke. Create your own flag using colors, shapes and textures and share its meaning!
