The annual Women’s Memorial Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 3:00 p.m., Nov. 11, 2010. The ceremony, one of three major observances in the nation’s capital, is free and open to the public and will include formal military honors, a keynote address, veterans’ remarks, and a wreath laying. The program will also include a special tribute to the women of World War II.
Delivering this year’s keynote address is Command Chief Master Sergeant Denise M. Jelinski-Hall, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chief, National Guard Bureau. CCMSgt Jelinski-Hall is the senior enlisted leader in the National Guard, representing the more than 472,000 Soldiers and Airmen of the Army and Air National Guard. She is the first woman in history to hold that position.

The Women In Military Service For America Memorial is the nation’s only major memorial honoring all servicewomen, past, and present. Featuring an exhibit gallery, theatre, Register of women who have served and a gift shop, the Memorial is open to the public, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.
